Workflow Guide

Share a Family Schedule Link

Use this workflow when a parent wants grandparents, relatives, or caregivers to view players, teams, upcoming events, and recent results without creating an ALL PLAYS account.

Overview

Family sharing creates a private link from the app. The link opens /app/#/family/:token and shows a read-only family page with shared players, teams, upcoming games and practices, recent results, and external calendar events that are attached to the token.

The legacy family.html?token=... page still works during transition, but new app-created links open the app-native family page first.

Who Is This For

  • Parents who want to share schedule visibility with relatives, babysitters, or caregivers.
  • Family members who need read-only access and do not need team chat, RSVP, fees, or roster editing.
  • Admins or coaches helping a parent confirm where the share workflow lives in the app.

Prerequisites

  • The parent is signed in to the app and has at least one linked player.
  • The player is connected to a team schedule in ALL PLAYS.
  • Optional external calendar feed URLs are valid web links if the parent wants to include outside calendars.

Step-by-Step Workflow

  1. Open the app and go to Home, then choose Family share, or open Add and choose Share with family.
  2. Confirm the players shown in the Family share tool. If no players appear, link a player first from the parent access workflow.
  3. Enter a label such as Grandma, Uncle Chris, or Babysitter.
  4. Optionally paste external calendar feed URLs, one per line.
  5. Select Create share link. The app copies the link when the browser allows clipboard access.
  6. Select Share to use native sharing on iOS or Android, or copy the link and send it through your preferred message app.
  7. Have the recipient open the link. They should see the family page in the app flow, including players, teams, upcoming events, and recent results.
  8. Return to Family share any time to refresh, edit feeds, or revoke a link.

What Family Sees

Recipients can open the link without signing in. The family page is read-only and shows shared players, team names, schedule cards, event locations, final scores when available, and an expired/revoked message when a token is no longer valid.

Recipients do not get team chat, RSVP controls, fee access, roster editing, private contacts, or admin tools from this link.

Revoke or Refresh Access

  • Use Revoke when a link should stop working immediately.
  • Create a fresh link when an old link expires or when the shared audience changes.
  • Edit calendar feeds from the existing token card when only outside calendar sources need to change.

Common Questions

Does the family member need an account?

No. Family share links are designed for no-login viewing.

Can a family member RSVP from this page?

No. Use parent account access or public RSVP links when a response is needed.

Why does the link open the app path?

New links use https://allplays.ai/app/#/family/:token so the same app flow works on web and native shells.

Recovery & Troubleshooting

  • Link says expired: ask the parent to create a new family share link.
  • Link says revoked: ask the parent to send a replacement if access is still needed.
  • No events appear: confirm the linked team schedule has upcoming games or practices.
  • External calendar warning appears: the outside calendar feed may be blocked or unavailable; ALL PLAYS events should still load.

Need More Help

Share the token label, the player/team name, and the exact message shown on the family page so a parent or team admin can confirm whether the link is active, expired, revoked, or missing schedule data.
